April 13, 2025 – Due to technical difficulty Dom Crossan recording #5 was not played.   John Richard filled in and talked about resurrection at the Eastern Church view which differs from the Western Church view. 

April 20, 2025 (Easter Sunday) – Mark Ellis will provide a quick overview about a new endeavor at First Church, the Growth and Connection committee.  He will then host a   conversation, to help this new team, exploring priorities that matter to us.

April 27, 2025 – Nancy Peed will discuss “Faith in the Face of Empire,” a post-colonial theological review by Rev. Dr. Mitri Rehab.

MAY

May 4, 2025 – Week 5 of Dom Crossan lessons from his book, “Paul the Pharisee: Faith and politics in a divided World.”  Lesson 5: Paul & Christ: The Mystery of Execution-and-Resurrection

May 11, 2025 Lee Ann Inman  will  review Wearing God, by Lauren F. Winner, winner of the Christianity Today, book award for Spirituality.

May 18, 2025 – Veronica Jattan, dedicated immigration attorney, overseeing comprehensive immigration assistance for families throughout Florida

May 25, 2025  – We will view “Oscar Mack vs. the Ku Klux Klan”, an oral history film. Oscar Mack was a World War I veteran. An attempt was made to lynch him in Kissimmee, Fl. This is his life story.

JUNE

June 1, 2025 – Renee Bronson, a resident of Kissimmee, had an Uncle who was part of the Klan and participated in the attack. After we view the film, she and her husband will join the class virtually for a discussion
